Every organization that wants to take this game changing passage will have to take a multi-phase approach and commit to invest in that same timeframe. Like any program, it all starts with a plan that should span several years, looking at different aspects of your manufacturing landscape and prioritizing the most critical areas first. Rhett is the Director for Asia IT and Smart Manufacturing at Allegro MicroSystems. Since joining in 2014, he has transformed the company’s manufacturing capabilities from a traditional, manual-based production facility to a digitally centered organization, utilizing enabling technologies such as IIoT, digital twins, equipment automation, data analytics, low-code development, MES, SCADA, and more. He has over 20 years of experience in semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing, working for Amkor Technology, Cypress Semiconductor, and REMEC Broadband Wireless. Rhett has been pushing for greater Smart Manufacturing adoption in the Philippines through his work with the Philippine government, speaking seminars in higher education institutions, and, as Chairman of SEIPI’s (Semiconductor and Electronics Industries of the Philippines) Industry 4.0 Technical Working Group, who’s charter is to drive more industry 4.0 implementation for semiconductor and electronics manufacturers in the Philippines. In partnership with MESA International, he co-authored the Philippine Smart Manufacturing Maturity Index, a baseline tool used by the Philippine government to measure Smart Manufacturing adoption in the country.
